Maria – {Sacramento Family Photographer}

I was so excited to shoot my friend Maria’s maternity.  I am so happy for this family.  They’ve waited a long time and soon they will be meeting their new son.

Beautiful Rocklin Family – Sacramento Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family a couple of weekends ago.  I think big brother is a budding photographer!

California State Fair – Sacramento Photographers

A few years ago on a whim, I entered a photo into the CA State Fair Fine Art Competition.   I had no idea the level of the artists who entered, or what to expect.  I didn’t put much thought into what I submitted, and in return, my photograph wasn’t accepted.  I was disappointed, but decided I would research a bit, and use this as a learning experience.  I went to the State Fair that year, and looked at the photographs that were accepted in.  I was blown away.  The photographs were spectacular.  True art.

I didn’t try again until this year.  I entered a print that I have received a lot of positive feedback about.  It is one of my favorite images.  I entered another print in the Black and White Photography category, but I should have kept it color and entered it into the color photography category instead.

I wasn’t sure if either would be accepted… but, I received this email:

Dear Artist:

Congratulations! Artwork(s) you submitted to California Fine Art 2010 was selected to be exhibited by one of the jurors.

I was SO excited.  I checked the list to see which of my entries was excepted.   ~ Grow ~

2 weeks ago I had to deliver my print for the confirmation and award judging.  I was thrilled to learn my print won an “Award of Merit” for my image.

So, after all this talk…

Let’s have a

Maternity and Newborn Plan – Sacramento Photographer

I absolutely LOVE doing maternity and newborn sessions.  However, I’ve found that many moms want maternity images, however not a full session worth.  So, I’ve combined the maternity and newborn sessions!  For more information, or to request a contract, please contact me at:  916-218-8725 or  email:  dawn@dawnrobertsphotography.com

Maternity – Sacramento Photographers

I’m so behind in blogging.  This is from last month!  Anyway, baby M arrived safely and happily, I’ll post his pictures soon.  Mom and dad (and jack) are loving him.

I hope you all are having a safe and happy summer!  I’m so glad the weather is mild, or perhaps more “normal”.  I’ll be shooting the wedding of my favorite kindy teacher on Friday evening, and this weather will make it absolutely perfect!

PhotoFriday – Sacramento Photographer

Ok, so I haven’t been able to do all of the challenges, but… I’ll keep trying!

Photofriday.com

This week was easy.  The theme is:  The Family

I have SO many images I could use, as a sacramento photographer, however I want to use a photo of my family.  This was taken last July, in Eureka, CA.  I put my Nikon D3, on top of an upside-down sand bucket right at the point the waves couldn’t reach.  My kids gave me 2 shots.  Self Timer On.  Dawn RUNS.  This was the best of the 2 shots.

Seniors! Class of 2011 Spokesmodel

Meet “A”.  She sings, runs track, and is active in Leadership.  She also has an adorable dog!

Class of 2010 – Sacramento Senior Photographer

“S” came to visit family in Sacramento from Alaska, and wanted to have her senior portraits done someplace a bit warmer than home. It was a pleasure meeting her, and working with her. She’s beautiful, and I love her smile!  I know she’s anxious to see… so here’s a bit of a preview.
